Salt and Aloes has been a bit quiet lately but that’s only because there’s been work behind the scenes…
The first reveal is the launch of a new video piece created for Bakanal de Afrique’s virtual global festival. This project has been three months in the making and the work of over 100+ artists and creatives representing Africa, the Americas, and Europe.
As we all gathered from around the globe, I spent a lot of time thinking about the movement of Caribbean people, how we land and build and go forth again. Our fractal selves. Those thoughts became the “Infinite Arrival”; while the video features one of my costume pieces, the project pushed me to work with sound and language in a way that I hadn’t before. I’m attaching a quick clip below and hope you have the chance to check out the full line up at www.bakanaldeafrique.com/
I will also be featured in the Artist Talk November 13, 1pm -2:30 pm.
